Thank you to all who created videos for the contest, to
our volunteer panel of judges, and to

The contest is now closed, but the original announcement
appears below.
This year, TKMA is partnering with
MyStudio.net
in a contest that will award one performer a prime-time slot on the
Plaza stage, before the headliner on Saturday night.
From the MyStudio.net
FAQ:
MyStudio© is a state of the art, high definition audio and video
recording studio designed for installation in malls and other high
traffic, public, pedestrian areas. At MyStudio© you can create a 5
minute music, modeling, comedy, dating, job search or personal message
video. The studio allows you to choose from hundreds of virtual
backgrounds for your video and thousands of karaoke songs. You get all
of this for only $20! In addition, you can join MyStudio.net and
create a member profile account to view your video, share it with
friends or even enter a contest.
MyStudio has a location in the Fashion Square Mall in Scottsdale, and
a group of Phoenix-area musicians and music lovers who support the
Tucson Folk Festival have organized a contest sponsored by MyStudio.
Performers can create a music video at MyStudio for $20, and MyStudio
will donate half of the fees to support the Folk Festival. Entries will
be judged by a panel of judges who will not be competing, and the
winning performer will be awarded the right to play in a prime time
slot on the Plaza Stage at the 25th annual
Tucson Folk Festival on Saturday, May 1st,
2010

contest rules

Only the winner will be invited to perform at the Festival,
but performers who compete in the MyStudio contest are welcome to submit
a regular
application
as well. However, the winner will only receive a single performance slot
(not one from the contest and one from the regular selection process).
